DP-E duo prop removal

That doesn't look quite like the tool I have. Try Keypart and others .
The cone has a lock nut which is undone first then two notches in the cone into which the bar of the tool fits to remove the cone.

Lock bolt inside the cone comes off first.
My cones always had holes in them to pass a steel bar through to undo them.
With the rear prop off you then have to undo a large castelated nut to remove the forward prop.
There is a tool for this, though I always got mine off with a very large pipe wrench that I owned already.

lock bolt .. use a standard socket set (think it's 19mm)
then a screwdriver shaft or flat bar across the two slots in the cone to loosen the cone, then remove easily by hand
rear prop then slides off
Remove inner nut with special spanner with 3x slots
Forward prop then slides off.

no need for loctite.
when replacing, check that both props have the stainless ring (toothed on large prop and plain on smaller prop) - don't ask how i know (expensive)

recon i need one of these:

the socket with the handle looks a bit short, will this reach the nut into the end cone, or do i need to remove the cone first ?
the cone does not appear to have any holes / grooves in to aid removal.

That's for DPS.
CLB's link is the right kit, although the price is high.

Part number 873058 is available here for £37 ...

so for the lock bolt can i use a normal socket and extension ?

if it comes off, put it back with loctite ?

Normal socket and extension for removal, yes.
Use a torque wrench for installation to correct torque, if I remember right you are suppose to use a new bolt and washer each time as the bolt/ washer stretches / compresses to form the lock.

ah, so the castelated nut projects aft of the inward prop ?
