DP-E being removed, what else to do

i am now sure i have water ingress on reverse from the top of the helmet
the bearing is v well greased
so having the seal replaced on the 'pin'

the bellows are one year old
cone clutch has just been done
shaft seals were pressured tested at the same time as the clutch and found to be ok
gear cable replaced 2 months ago

anything else i should have done at the same time as the seal round the 'pin' ?

yeh fair point, could renew the gear and the shaft seal whilst it is off, i'll find out
those are the 'only' two to consider ?

If the fork seals are knackered it will allow water into the boat.

If its only water getting into the boat would not be too concerned. My boat suffered this for years before we summoned up the enthusiasm to tackle it.
Think the leg has to be off, to easily drop fork (and its associated seals) out of the transom assembly.
The seals cost pennies.
Ensure you clean out the internal drilled grease channels inside the helmet shaft, bit of stiff wire might be need to shift any old hard grease.
The real pig of a job is to gain access to the bolt which secures the steering arm to top of fork. Depending on how old boat is , heat and a hammer will be required to seperate steering arm from fork spline.

You may well find somebody has previously removed bits of the hull around the bolt to enable a spanner to get on to the bolt.
