Agonising over which new suit of sails for the boat.

Anyone had anything made in Dimension Polyants Carbon Sport lite skin?

Our local Hyde dealer in Ramsgate Simon Northrop showed me a sample and looks great for our intended use of fast cruising and occasional club racing.

Apparently it's easy to look after and can cope with flaking etc, I don't want go be mucking around rolling a mainsail up on a boom short handed.

A couple of headsails and a new main is the thick end of lots of cash, don't want to get this wrong! I've used North before but lack of dealer support on East Coast puts me off a little.

Any thoughts or first hand knowledge of this cloth appreciated.

Got gpl liteskin on 42ft Bavaria. Took sailmaker 3 recuts and 12months to get them almost right.
But that's the sailmaker / measurer not the material.
Quite stiff and powerful. Don't forget windows- you won't see any tell tales through them.
Headsail furls nicely, but made a sleeve for when it's left on rather than a heavy UV strip.
I describe them as more like waxed cardboard than cloth.
Main flaked and left on permanently as I think we did more damage removing our last laminate each week than actually using it. flakes can be quite big though.
Can be seen Cardiff if you're really interested.
DP rep Ben really good guy, came out with us when we reached the end of our patience and diagnosed main problem.

Good luck, they are beautiful .

Many thanks, very helpful, if you were a bit closer I'd certainly take you up on your offer of a look.

Cheers
Dave
