Downright strange boat names

n Engels denk ik dat rommel is ‘Jumble’? not quite so harsh as Afval in het Nederland’s taal?

Colin, you're quite right, the correct translation for "rommelmarkt" is indeed "jumble sale", and is what can be found in our attic (no real litter there, just lovely things which can come in handy one day ...). However, when a Dutch speaker will make an "informed appreciation" of an object, it will be "dit is rommel", if he want to rubbish it!
BTW. According to a boating magazine they are blindingly fast boats. I've been on one two months ago -not sailing- a bit sparse, but definitely well put together. Certainly not "rommel"...

It means, in a slang way, "one who masturbates", or "[--word removed--]" to be precise.
