Hi all, I have a dell quay dory 13 that’s rated to hold a 50hp outboard.
I was planning to fit a 40hp that’s currently fitted to my CJR dory14 until I realised that it was a short shaft (after removing it
).
I have a 60hp Yamaha/Mariner that’s in great working order, which leads me to my question.
I know this is probably a stupid one, but will fitting the 60hp be an issue, being that it’s 10hp overpowered? There’s no plans to use the boat like a speed boat. Just some early morning fishing days. The 60hp has never let me down, so would be a shame to have to get rid of it for a small one.
cheers
Dave
