I posted on here some weeks ago asking for advice about buying a Doral 300SC. Heard nothing bad and lots good so took the plunge and bought the boat! Well, took it out for the first time this weekend. WOW.......does this boat go! She has twin KAD43's 260HP's and the power is just amazin'

35 knots comes up in around 9 secs, push her some more and another surge forward to around 40 knots and that's bloody quick...too quick for me! 30 knots is just fine!!

After my little 28' Sunseeker with it's twin 130HP's it's like being rocket propelled. She was taken in as part exchange at the price I asked! and she's been sold already! and they've only had her a week!

I got her from Essex boatyards and while I agree they do get some dodgy stock, this one really stood out, less than 200 hours in 5 years and immaculate!

They arranged for a bowthruster and an eberspacher to be fitted, excellent installations and delivered on the agreed time for no extra cost. Critisism's?? well their idea of a clean boat fall somewhat short of mine but apart from that....if you're looking for a boat and they have the right one.....buy it! But you've gotta keep looking at their stock everyday to find it.

Happy boatin'

You are quite right Duncan, they are 230hp's. Slip of the finger I guess.

I agree about Essex.

I got my Regal from there in July...they did the deal and had it delivered and on the water in less than three weeks. They know what they are doing so you can leave it to them. Just remember that the boats are cheap because they have generally not had much use in recent years and the owners have given up, so ensure you check everything fully i.e. electrics!

Can't complain though, I saved over 15k by buying boat off them, and they sold my old boat in two weeks!

Great to see you are happy too,

N.

I had a nuts & bolts survey carried on the boat & engines which revealed every little niggle, in fact the staff asked my surveyor if he was intending on moving in (10 hours!)

It never saved me anything as nothing major was discovered but well worth the cash for the peice of mind alone.

Anyway it's encouraging to know there are other satisfied EB customers out there!!
