Mike,
Very good choice, and one you will not regret. I am now on my 4th Doral, and started with the 250 which was a 5.0 litre petrol. Fit and finish are way above anything else in the range, and handling very easy and competent.
One comment I will make is to reconsider your choice of petrol. Like you, I chose petrol over diesel because of purchase price ( there was a £18,000 difference in the new price), and although the boat was fast and quiet it does hurt the pocket every time you refill. At cruise speed (25 knots) you will use 40 litres per hour, so a 2 hour "spin around the bay" will set you back £75 to £100 depending where you get your fuel from. This will make you analyse every trip, and stop you just enjoying her. Even at todays prices for red your costs will reduce to about £30 for the same "Spin", and I assure you, you will use her more, and her resale value will also be more. So take the "hit" up front and forget about it, or take it every time you refill and be reminded of it every time.
What ever you get, enjoy your boating.

ps I have sent you a PM
