. . . You spend ages forensically tracing a wiring fault, and it's a total waste of time.

A month ago the internal 12v cig sockets on OF mysteriously stopped working. Not a disaster as there was one at the helm still working, as was the 220v system, the inverter and the geni. But those 12v sockets were great for charging phones, iPad, laptop, etc. Finally decided to trace the problem last Tuesday morning while moored in Dingle. Took all the panels off, lifted seats, boards, access panels, and forensically checked the wiring, blocks, trips using multimeter, etc. No joy! Went to the galley to pop a meal in the microwave, and glanced over at the secondary 12v panel used to manage the inverter circuits - BLAST, there was another breaker for the blasted 12v cig sockets and "somebody" had turned it OFF. Popped it on and hey presto!

I'm not accusing any family member! :) But I should have known there was a second breaker on the secondary panel :confused: A wasted morning, but a) I learned something new, and b) it was working.
