The sky is falling!?

Apart from the panic-panic stories, did anyone notice anything (apocalypse for-bye?)

Remember the 'millenium bug'? Billions chucked at it. Consultants made a fortune. Population cowed in fear of economic and technological melt-down. It's a sign of the times. We are no longer concerned about what's probable, but increasingly anxious about anything that's possible.

If it hadn't have been for the efforts of thousands of people in the IT industry, me included, you wouldn't be so dismissive of the millenium bug, believe me!

There was a whole lot of silly hype going around but never the less there were very real issues that had to be addressed and an awful lot of time and money had to be thrown at the problems to make them go away.

I for one have always been deeply suspicious of any of this new-fangled rubbish technology and still use my backstaff as being simple and unlikely to fail.

Mind you I'm having some difficulty with seeing things at all.

Just got my astrolobe back from the cleaners!
