Don\'t judge a book by the cover
Looked out of my window today and saw a NB mooring up. I jumped on to my trusty Gator and zoomed down, as I arrived I saw that there were 5 yobbos aboard complete with tattoos earrings and those 'orrible shorts with lots of pockets, the ones that reach half way down the legs.
Before I get utter a word one of them said. "Please accept our apologies Sir, we can see it's private but there's smoke coming from the engine and we thought maybe we were on fire"
To cut the story short, they were over-heating badly, we got the hire company out (Caversham Boat Services) and they diagnosed an air lock which they fixed.
In the meanwhile I got to know these blokes and what nice guys they were too. I felt guilty about my initial reaction especially when they told me how nice everyone was on the river and how they were going to hire a boat again next year "but next time not one of these nasty tin boxes but a smart cabin cruiser". Both the mechanic and I smiled at that.
