I am looking for some help in finding my late fathers race boat. It turns out it was built in 1970 by don shead and raced by him in the cowes torquay classic under the name miss enfield 2.
The boat was LPW when we had it in 1986/87.
I belive it is in hampshire undergoing restoration in a barn somewhere.
Any info would be greatly recieved.
Edward.

Don Shead is alive and well, and living in Stockbridge, Hampshire. I guess it's just possible that he will know something of her whereabouts.

Might also be worth trying the Boatmad.com forum - it's more racer orientated - to see if anybody there is working on her as a project.

Good luck with the search - my Old Man was involved in Class 1 racing in the 60s and 70s and I vaguely remember Miss Enfield.

It might help you to ask the same question on the forum of the fairey owners club as there is some interest in old race boats there (inc my own Huntsman 28 race no 333).

Also, can you give us more detail about the boat you are searching for?

And she looks like this...

Can't get it to show as an image, for some reason, but have a look <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.cowesclassic.com/1970winner.htm>here</A>
