Seen porpoises now and then and the odd seal but havent seen a dolphin this far up.It allways makes my day when I see any of them.

Wow. I saw Dolphins at Oxwich about 10 years back, but I never realised they came so far up the channel. Well done!

Well done you!

SWMBO would die to have a dolphin swimming alongside our boat!
If the weather is nice over Easter we will hopefully be viviting Swansea and Lundy, hope to see a few then.

Re Lundy, I understand there are a few visitors bouys, what happens if we get there and they're all in use? Would it be acceptable to raft up to another boat?

Lundy, there are 4 visitors moorings and one which belongs to the warden. the anchorage is good as long as the wind stays in theWest. The Warden is Nicola Saunders 01237 431831 . It would be worth giving her a call for upto date information. I would not recommend or be happy rafting up on the swinging moorings, if a swell starts to come in it would be very uncomfortable with the possibility of damage.

Several years ago there was a porpoise/dolphin in King Roads off Avonmouth, but it was too far off to determine exactly what it was.
Before my time a dolphin was seen in the river Avon, passing Pill and heading up to Bristol, however as is the wisdom of these creatures it turned around at High Water to head back down stream.

Usually see lots of dolphins down Lundy way, I saw 2 porpoises near the Monkstone last year, and there was one seen at the entrance to Portishead lock, believe it or not.

I've posted this before, but it's one of my favorites - seen from the bow, between Foreland and Combe Martin.

Hey Sneds, you know that spikey thing on the bow of your boat? Well, if you lower it down to the bottom you can get it to stick in the sand at Lundy and keep your boat in one place for simply ages /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

may take a trip lundy, my self this easter depends on weather have not looked at the tide times at sharpness yet, but straight down if all is ok /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
