Dolphins off Colwyn Bay today

I've regularly seen dolphins in the distance in Conwy Bay but a change in usual haunts saw us off the wind turbines at Colwyn where we were beset by a large pod of 15 plus dolphins that came to play in the boat's wake (as opposed to surfing the bow). We've never had that pleasure here in the UK before and apart from being thrilled were amazed at how big they actually were compared to those off East Africa. They must have been pushing close to 600 kilo. Have the usual pics and vids that don't do justice. I imagine it's old hat to some but we're chuffed to bits. What a great day :encouragement:

Seeing dolphins is always a thrill, no matter how many you've seen before

Regular sight up here in the Moray Firth.

Oddly yesterday we saw a single lone dolphin, billy no mates. They normally come in groups. We had friends on board yesterday, first time on a small boat and first time seeing a dolphin so it made it special for them.

Thanks for bringing that up.... again. My insurance is paying out on that debacle :encouragement: Pity they don't cover front teeth. You'd have had a gleaming set after parking up on The Skerries and wouldn't have to resort to flipping a bird for people to understand you. Anyway, when you gonna teach me how to drive a boat? The marina doubled my winter berthing quote. I think they saw my recent fueling stop with a mixture of awe and terror.

Went from 99 quid a meter to 184 when I went to sign up. I guess they ballsed up. PITA is I missed my opportunity to go onto the harbour hard as a result. I'm not going to take a marina berth there on principle now. I'd sooner lift out in Rhyl.
