bizzare same thing happened to us last month as we passed worms head heading west we were met by hundreds of them swimming along with the boat for about half an hour on the return trip nothing
There's a well-established group (hundreds) off Pembrokeshire. We sailed right through them 3 years ago about 2/3rds of the way from Ilfracombe to Milford. They move around quite a bit probably chasing the shoals of fish, so it's a matter of luck whether you sail right through them or not. We did and had the most amazing display of adults and young diving under the boat and surfing on the waves right alongside of us for about 15-20 mins.
Last week we saw loads of dolphins about 5 miles off Bull Point (on passage from Lundy Island to Portishead). I also saw some in the dark between St Govans and Lundy. The Bull Point dolphins were with us for about 90 minutes.
Graham> You weren't in Swansea on Sunday night were you? I was walking around the marina (to the nearest late night pub) and there was someone there who looked uncannily like you. Cervisia was moored on the fuel pontoon (as part of the 2009 tour of Bristol Channel fuelling and waiting pontoons).
