We knew crossing yesterday would see the wind diminishing but to add a twist we hadn't reckoned it would be more SE than forecast NW.
But we had an an amazing passage to Blankenberg yesterday pm and this morning. Pods of Dolphin over 2 hrs visiting us, after dark amazing light show above and superb phosflorescence as we steamed over to the West Hinder. Made up for the fact we motor saIled all the way until just off Oostende. Got into Blankenberge with 4 ft under keel and 2 hrs before LW.
Wicked!

Hi Folks,
Indeed no need for cruising chute Mood Sabre well spotted - a shame as I had been dreaming of a very pleasant F3 under chute all the way. BUT I wouldn't trade the dolphins and star show for the world. Not sure what was going on with the wind but it was nearly 180 degrees out.
Sat in Blankenberg right now with Flushing on the agenda tomorrow probably Middleberg for a sample of the Yacht Club delights then onto the Veerse Meer and Oosterschelde for a couple of weeks. The children have the use of a Tinker Tramp we have borrowed with sailing rig so I am told a great combination of tender with sailing ability - not yet rigged it mind you!
Sun is shining and the crew are happy having had sand between their toes!
Wishing all happy sailing.
Ben

Great advice Clive. We are planning to be on the 0950 tram to Brugges tomorrow. A day of architecture and cultural assimilation!
Weather settled for next week so sun and fair winds look like they will take hold. Veere can wait a day!
