Dolphin in the Solent

Spotted a single dolphin this afternoon about a mile SW of Beaulieu entrance. We were headed west, he was heading east. One of the larger ones too.

Unfortunately in work. but there was one up the Medina last year for a couple of days.
Obvously heard about the new menu at the Foley!!

Dolphins in the Solent

About 4 years ago there was a 'resident' dolphin that patrolled the area between Castle Point buoy and Calshot Spit Buoy for about 3 months. It picked up on our boat and escorted it to the Spit buoy then returned for the next boat. The dolphin disappeared from the area in the October of that year.
Nice to know they are back in the Solent.

We saw something very odd swimming against the current on Monday & I noticed a black shape on the video I uploaded swimming off Castle Point.Spooky.
Could be the Solent's equivalent of the Loch Ness monster
By the way what a cracking weekend that bank Holiday was!

I was in Yarmouth the week before last. A guy spotted that he'd passed me just west of Hurst a day or so before.

"Did you see that pod of dolphins just before we passed you?" he said..........

I hate it when that happens. No.
