Hi,
My wife, daughter and I aare thinking of taking our pet dog sailing with us to Bangor and Howth from Largs.. We quite often take him around the Clyde..
Does anyone have any experience of taking dogs with them to Ireland?
Any issues wrt paperwork? Are customs, police or other bodies interested?

Regards

Bob

Irish authorities would only be interested in your pooch if he had been in a position to pick up rabies i.e. if he had visited one of those countries east of you that indulge in euro-philia or other nefarious practices. Countries to the west of you practice safe euro-philia.

Cead mile failte in Eirinn.

Thanks Guys..
Presume I just put his details in the log so Customs can see last port of call.

It will seem strange to take him from the land of Whisky and Pound notes to the land of Whiskey and Pound coins then to Whiskey and Euros!

Still he has travelled from 60degrees North.. so he shouldn't be too concerned

Thanks and Best Regards

Once sailed with a puppy a cat and a tomatoe plant from Barrow in Furness, via IOM, to Ireland (N&S). The tomatoe plant caused the greatest consternation amongst the C&E people.
