Does the production of a new model boat, devalue price of the older models?

We were looking at a Fontaine Pajot Helia 44 and the relative costs of these cats.

They have since launched a new 45.

Will this devalue the used 44’s on the market and make them worth less, now it is the previous model?

If so how much less would you hazard a guess at?

Probably not.
Why not buy the tried and tested last of the old model with all the glitches probably sorted out rather than the new and untested model with glitches yet to be discovered.

Generally yes. But cruising catamarans around 40-45 foot are in high demand / short supply at present, so probably currently much less impact than for an equivalent monohull.
