Does DVLA relate my car registration to SSR?

I would be grateful if anyone can tell me whether this could happen...
My car is registered with the DVLA and they have the legal power to seize it, if for example I default on a parking ticket, forget to renew my insurance or whatever, they have "Draconian" powers to take my car off me for what might be an innocent mistake,SORN is a minefield for example.
SSR is also administered by the DVLA. So could they take my yacht if I owed a parking ticket, or my road tax disc went out of date?
I want to get SSR to be legal in Europe, but I do occasionally get parking tickets on the car although my speeding days are over. Is there a crossover between the two bits of the DVLA and do they regard my yacht as something they can seize or arrest for a motoring offence?
This question is seriously worring me and I sincerely hope the answer is a big fat "no",but I have no trust of these new Orwellian agencies...
Thanks for putting my mind at rest-- or alternatively warning all those on SSR! cheers Jerry.

What makes you think SSR is administered by DVLA. MCA is at Cardiff not Swansea. Both are executive Agencies of the Dept of Transport, but no indication of link otherwise.

The Small Ships Register is part of the RSS branch of the MCA.

It is run from Cardiff, but reports to the MCA is Southampton.

It is not related or linked to the DVLA.

Both the DVLA and ourselves are part of the Department for Transport, but that's where the connection ends. Some services the MCA use are provided by DfT Shared Services, also in Swansea, but this is for recruitment, etc.

So no, I won't be coming round to clamp your boat anytime soon :)

In Australia they give you point on your driving licence as a general form of punishment. So you might get points for littering or being anti-social i.e. non motor related offences.

So anything could happen. Remember one member of the collation wanted to punish students who pay off their student loans early for "getting away with not paying the interest!".

So, should folks bring their daughters around to their nearest coastguard station for deflowering then, instead of their local dvla?

Pay the parking tickets then.:)

But we are talking govt IT here. If they can lose more than a million illegals, several billion £ on NHS IT, and several billion £ on social security, not to mention more than a million unlicenced cars, just how do you think they are going to find you?

Most civil servants couldnt find their own arses.

Only if they're lookers ;)

The others should put on a fluffy wool jacket and go to Swansea, Holyhead or Milford Haven.

Shetland will settle for anything with a pulse.

Brixham aren't fussy about the pulse
