Recommend by Garmin customer services to transfer gps data via a PC.

Does anyone use it and is it worth bothering with?

What I would like to do is load waypoints from handheld to Garmin plotter.

yes - works ok but the free one only allows 100 (i think) waypoints to be transferred. not found a way round it yet - apart from paying that is!

Nick

If both the units are Garmin, can the plotter not suck up all the waypoints from the 72?

I downloaded all my 256 waypoints from a friend in the club to my new GPS 76 from his GPS 128 in seconds.

Before the doubting thomases go "Oh no!!", this is a friend who I have been on numerous trips with and I know his waypoints are accurate!!

GPSU software is useful tool as a backup if you lose all waypoints from both units but I have to say I was not blown away by it.

regards

Mike

I've got hundreds of waypoints in my garmins. They don't have to all be in one route. In fact I normally assemble a few of them into a route as and when needed. The rest are there for when I need to get to a safe haven in an emergency if visibility or weather become an issue
