Does anyone recognize this connector?

I have some faults with wind information and a Nexus Server - and I'm pretty sure it's the connection from sensor to server. Currently the wires from the sensor are pushed into the server and held by some spring device (awkward and difficult to see due to location) but there seems to have been originally plugs into which server wires were pushed/screwed down, then that plug inserted into the body of the server. My server has one such plug. I am looking for a couple more.

This is the part I am after (marked in red) from the server documentation. It handles four pins/wires. I presume its a stock electronics item? What might it be called?

I have a Nexus Server and by chance I disconnected the wind sensor this weekend before removing the mast. I can confirm, that on mine at least, it is just four ordinary screw terminals.

Hi

Looks like a small 4 way Molex terminal block, (there are many other manufacturers )

How is the block mounted, eg is it soldered into the PCB ?. You will need to know the spacing of the terminals and the overall length.

Maplins, RS Components and Farnell will have ranges of these connectors.

NB. if it is soldered to the PCB be very very carefull unsoldering the old one as it is very easy to destroy the PCB tracks.

Good luck

Unless I'm missing something, those look like four ordinary screw terminals?

Richard

Not on this server. Maybe on later ones. This is a plug which fits into the server. The plug has screw down elements, but also pins which fit into the server. I have looked up images of molex connectors and can't see the one I have. I may pop over to the boat now and take a pic.

Lucky I went over to boat - window left open and chart table soaking ...

However, when I looked, there were differences between the diagram above and reality. This is with the plug pulled out of the server. It only has three pins, but has space for four:

The red indicates the plug I am looking for, and the blue shows where the wires are just pushed into the server (and don't seem to make great contact).

Size appears to be 5mm between pins:

Any idea what this connector is?

Can't see your attachments?

I have in front of me Wanjie WJ2EDGK-5.08

Looks a bit like that.
5.08 is 0.2inch spacing I guess.

Edit:
It's the other gender, it plugs onto pins on the PCB.

Try Farnell or RS.

I think I get it - it's a plug which would usually be soldered onto a pcb? A search of "5mm 4 pin screw terminal" brings up items which might well work.

Thanks.

It's a "pluggable terminal block". They are made in 2 parts; one soldered to the PCB and the second part plugs into it. Combines the convenience of un/plugging with the versatility of wiring.

I don't recognise that particular type. Many manufactures have close copies of each other's parts but most have shrouded pins.

If you do find something that looks right; watch out for metric (5mm pitch) verses imperial pitch (5.08mm pitch). Often both are available in the same range and you will need the correct one.
