Does anyone really know their PCB connectors?

I want to re wire the fist mic on my VHF and the curly wire (8 core) is connected each end with one of these. I could splice the new wire to the old tails, but would rather use new plugs if possible. The nearest I can get is that they may be JST connectors, but there are thousands of types and I haven’t found what looks like the same yet.
It’s circa 13mm long, 4mm deep and 3mm wide with 8 pins.

JST Dupont have a number of different size/pitch ranges.. The often used on is 2.54mm (0.1") pitch.

Your photo seems to equate to 1.5mm pitch.. (Two pins seem to take up 3mm and would lead to a 13mm wide plug...)

You'll need a small crimper if you're making the cables up but you can get plugs, terminals and the crimping tool as a kit.

Edit - I meant to say. Looks like ZH (also known as JST Micro Connector) might be the right match.

I didn’t understand the ‘pitch’ thing, so your post is doubly useful ?

The pitch is distance between the pins.

Many pcb connectors are all 0.1" which is what I first checked.

I just grabbed a piece of paper, held it up to the screen and marked dots where your pins were..



They didn't line up with the inches on your ruler but they two gaps seemed to be 3mm exactly.
