We often fish from the boat and eat the catch.

If we can go cruising next year I shall take a modified keep net and use it to catch shimps or prawns, something I was good at as a child.

My Brother and I made a large diameter net from a red onion sack and a 26 inch bicycle wheel rim.

By tying three strings to the rim and attatching it to a longish pole it was possible to lower it into the water at high tide near Mill Rythe in Chichester Harbour.

A smelly fish head in the net proved to be a great shrimp attractor. A pint was easily got when the tides were high in the evenings. Several species of small fish were caught too, probably fry.
