Does anyone else use Netweather?

I've found it to be one of the more reliable forecasts for general weather and does go into reasonable detail with different sections, also the weather radar works very well and we used to use that at race venues, have a quick l;ook if you've never tried it.

Do you have to pay for Netweather Extra in order to get radar forecasts? Or do you only get radar to date on both?

Yes... My context is that I previously used the Home & Dry App on an iPhone 6S, which has a quite amazing rain radar forecast which predicts minutes, hours, and days ahead. The accuracy over the next few hours is amazing.

However, I bought a new Samsung S10 in June, and discovered that Home & Dry is owned by Apple, so not available on Android.

Having tried a few apps, I am currently using Weather & Radar, which has a reasonable rain radar forecast, for minutes, hours, and days ahead, but not as good as Home & Dry.

Netweather Extra says:

"New V8 Radar
Our new V8 radar is now available, with many new features including predictive radar for the next three hours, virtual weather stations and is installable as a (PWA) app on iOS, Android and Windows. "

Unless I am missing something, it seems that its' predictive radar is both a new feature, and only a 3 hour prediction.... which would be useful, but I would have to revert to Weather & Radar for longer prediction periods.

For three quid, I could always try it for a month and see what it actually does under my fingers

At £18, I've paid for a year. It actually looks like it gives 24 hours worth of radar forecast It will be interesting to see how it compares.

I believe they all use the same data source, so not sure why the Apple App was better than Weather and Radar - perhaps a better interpretation.

Can I respectfully point out that the Met Office app combines their radar data with their numerical weather prediction model. All Netweather and Wet and Dry can do is reformat. Why pay when it is free? These people cannot run models. They have no other source of weather radar data. They cannot do better. Their presentations may look better but that is all.

There is some good educational stuff there but remember that they are trying to separate you from your money. Their forecasts are all derived from national weather service and ECMWF information. You will not get any better forecasts From them. Recently, I saw a claim that every 2 hours they were updating forecasts for the next 10 days. The best source of extended forecasts is ECMWF. They issue forecasts every 12 hours. A 2 hour update makes no sense whatsoever. Smoke and mirrors which applies to all these private weather firms.
