Well Dave, I don't know which part of 'sunny' Brightlingsea you are in, but it is pretty grotty at the top end of town!!
 
In the high street John....pretty cloudy and damp as you know, do you sail from here? we have just moved from Bedford,sail out od titchmarsh marina.

Just to cheer you all up, it seems that NZ is slowly getting back to work after the holiday break. Temperature mid 20's but its been a wet summer so far.
I cant decide whether I would rather be working here or retired there.

Yes, sail a Cobra 850 from Brightlingsea with wife and rugrats...been sailing here since I was 5...bloody hell, that is frightening...40 years!! You should move round from Titchmarsh...far nicer sailing out of the Colne!!

I sail a Westerly Conway soop I also have a mooring in the Walton Channel, This year we (my wife and I) plan to spend summer swinging off that. Glad to hear that you your kids sail its a great way to bring them up.
I started sailing when i was 15 at navy training schoolway way back in 1959 (am I that old? scary) . We should meet up for a chat sometime.
