Hi All,

I'm guessing at 10 years old my fridge needs to be re-gassed as it isn't as good as it used to be!!
Does anyone know / recommend anyone who can re-gas my system?

Ideally Bradwell / Burnham / Fambridge / Maldon.... or Orwell based company would be good :)

Many thanks in advance

Ian

So can any fridge engineer charge/top up a R134a filled system?
The reason I ask is that we have two fridges. One is an insulated box with an evaporator plate that is effectively a small freezer compartment. The other is a complete fridge with the little freezer box.
I have replaced the compressor and evapoator box on the big one and had it gassed by a marine fridge specialist. It doesn't really work as well as it should and probably needs redoing as I don't believe it is cooling throughout the evaporator plate.
The other has been regassed and 'vacuumed' but is no longer working so I assume it either has a leak in the system or the compressor needs replacing.
Trouble is, every time you get a marine fridge engineer out it seems to cost £100 for gassing.
I know the compressors are different than domestic ones as they run off 12v but it seems that the gasses should be the same.
How much does a domestic person charge to regas a fridge system?
