Does a yanmar 1gm10 fit in a Kings Cruiser 29?

"The engine is not turning over but this should be easily fixed by someone with a little know how".

Which usually means that someone with a little know how has already told the seller that it's fooked.
These ads are really annoying. "Known defects: None".

Engine doesn't turn over doesn't seem like a huge deal necessarily. I could hire a professional to look at it and tell me exactly what's broken and maybe even fix it. Might be an option. I mean 3k is also not very much for an otherwise nice boat (although in this case who knows what else is wrong).
Time will tell.

Do you know what's wrong with it?

The 3 grand one does lack a tiller but that may be off the boat. There is damage to the deck woodwork and the toe rail would need to be checked carefully for rot, it's a big item.

It looks like it has not been used for a long time, and there is evidence of not very special DIY activity in the wiring department. The gas hob is toast (he he) and the vendor has not been very forthcoming about the sails or indeed the upholstery etc. It looks rough and neglected internally and I would not expect the batteries to have been kept up.

The one saving grace is the engine, if the installation and condition is ok then an enthusiast could make something of the boat. If you envisaged paying people to do the work or buying new stuff like sails, it gets rapidly too expensive for most folk. However, when you are in the market, looking at boats is never time wasted.

I don't know how protected Portknockie is but the cradle does not look totally convincing. If I bought it, the first job would be to put some props in.

PS

This looks a great buy:

Custom Kings Cruiser 29 | 9m | 1974 - Gwynedd | Boats and Outboards

The sort of boat it really would be worth putting a new engine in if required.

This boat looks really nice and I didn't even know that website. Thanks for both.

Interestingly this boat has a yanmar 1gm10 installed, the very engine I was asking about.

Yes, you wont be water skiing behind it but, in my view, it is a perfectly acceptable engine for that boat.

I believe Boats and Outboards is a kosher site but have a care, there are many clone and scam people about.

Boats and Outboards has been going for many years and I've bought and sold from it in the past.

To the OP, if that is the design that you hanker for (as opposed to just being tempted by a 'bargain') then you should go and see that one asap. Well worth the extra 3k or so for one that has been loved.

Cheers, it is indeed a very nice boat with obvious capabilities and seems to be a quite affordable boat. My budget will be around 10k, I haven't got it all together yet but as soon as my piggy bank is full I will be looking for a nice boat and will definitely look out for a kings cruiser 29,

Thanks for all the advise here.
