Does a nice boat turn you into an Alcoholic

It‘s a thought provoking thread. I have no problem with not drinking at home, but the thought of a day/night on the boat without a tipple or two would somehow seem to deprive us of the totality of the boating experience. Everything in moderation etc but, frankly, life’s too short.

I am glad it provoked some thoughts. I think at this point this thread has had about 1000 views so perhaps the odd person might lay off the booze just a little. Those that don't get it well they never will I suspect.

These days I only drink in restaurants and I mostly eat in restaurants while boating.....

We are not that keen on Restaurants to be honest and hardly ever go in them so no issue there for us

Some years ago we were looking to buy a property on Skiathos and we were seriously advised not to buy one with a lovely view because many who did just sat and gazed at the view while drinking booze in time this got so bad they became alcoholics.

when reading several posts on hear I read many references to drinking on the boat and I wondered if sitting at anchor in nice or even not so nice weather could cause the same Over time.

I have nowt against alcohol and have a tipple from time to time but not that Offton. I actually prefer fruit juice these days.

Read the thread but don't really get your post. Given the population numbers I don't think boats are the alcohol factor here.
As for the house in the sun isn't that a domestic working factor? You didn't specify just lumped potentially unrelated facts together.
