Dodged a bullet

My S28 had a spring exactly like that to hold up the lid above the sink (no griddle).
It would hold up the lid in calm water, with the spring straight.
Any waves or wash, and the lid would close very quickly :ambivalence:

Looking at the other pictures you are indeed right and i'm wrong. Apology's. :o:encouragement:

I think the loop you are referring to holds a small tray that you scrape the grill clean in to and then you empty the tray. We were back on board today and there is no evidence in anyway of a cut off switch.

Helpfully another Bav 37 owner on this forum has a grill with a cut off switch and he is going to send me some photos.

Ah OK. One of the grills on one of my previous boats had a cut off in that position
