Dockrell 22

Can anyone tell me anything about a Dockrell 22, fitted with a Vire engine? I am about to buy one and would appreciate contact with another owner.

Try searching under Hurley 22, or post on Scuttlebutt, some one will give the Hurley owners site, or give advise.

Good boat though.

Unlike the Dockrell 27, which was a development of the Hurley27, the Dockrell 22 was a totally different boat from the Hurley 22. I sailed one fitted with a drop keel about 24 years ago and remember it as having almost uncontrolable weather helm. Changing the setting of the drop keel did little to alter the inherent imbalance of the boat. Hope this helps.

Thanks, guys. That bit about the weather helm sounds worrying, though...The boat has a fin keel so may be more biddable.
