This sort of exchange is because it is social media and the "conversation" isn't face to face so you can see if the person is serious or speaking in jest.

I prefer the forum as it was a few years ago. People be they motor boaters or sailors got on and helped each other. I for one won't stay long if this sort of exchange is the new norm.

People still do help each other enormously on this site and I have had tremendous help in the practical section, and also shared any tips that I have received. This type of altercation is extremely rare if not virtually unknown in the boating sections.........until you enter the lounge.;)

Been thinking along the same lines myself

talking which - when are you back? perhaps we should try to have an old fashioned ECF Fitted Up supper to honour you :-)

I've still got the tea mug, somebody needs to relieve me of it :D

Lol. Back 3rd week of April. Hoping to be afloat by start of May. Already booked up for both May Bank Holidays. Am sure we can fix a pub meet somewhere!

Good idea!

I've got a Lad's Blackwater Pub Crawl planned for the Easter weekend (although at the moment I've only got two "lads" signed up for it!)

Jane and I will be out and about from the 14th to the 27th of May and again from the 21st of August to the 2nd of September

(We're off to the Channel Islands, weather permitting, mid June to mid July)

I set up a FB page for Jaguar boats and it has boomed, mainly after I passed it on to another. It is extremely useful and unlike Forums the posts are not anonymous.

Forum posts don't have to be anonymous. If you see posting with a real identity you can, i assume your real name is not "Toyboy".
