Do you think battery acid is dangerous?

specific gravity of acid from a charged battery is approx 1.33 (that is 43% concentrate). Dangerous if spraying it around or something.

From a a dead cell, sg=1.05 (that is 7.4% concentrate)

I have dealt with HF acid before (very dangerous) and lots of other dangerous things in my time as a scientist.

I cannot see anything I did in this video that was dangerous. I did not bother with nitrile gloves because having had it on my hands and washed it off, no ill effects were observed.

This is a scrap battery someone gave me and I am tinkering with it.

Do you see anything I am doing that is dangerous?

No why do you ask.

Are you mucking about with it, testing SG, when it appears to be connected to some PV ? Looks that way in the pic. As for battery acid, it's fine. If we run out of tonic water it suffices at a pinch. :encouragement:

Using a jar labelled picked onions for sulfuric acid

If we're going to spell sulphur with an f, that should be ethanoic acid!

The preferred spelling for sulfur and its compounds is with an "f" .

Ethanoic acid is the IUPAC name but the "common" names of many common compounds are also accepted. Acetic acid is one of those

Another Septic aberration of the mother tongue! They seem to like doing it - other examples are aluminium, silicone, and they don't seem to like "u" either as a sound or in colour, flavour, etc.. I suppose we could pander to them on this forum as they own it.

Depends on what you mean by 'mother tongue' I think. The Old English was 'swefl' https://www.etymonline.com/word/sulfur
