Just think back to the old days, with the reactor. Simply take the fuse for the alarm out and put a bit of masking tape over the switch. Sorted.
More mundanely, like the 2nd-hand car I bought where I eventually spotted that the oil warning light did not come on before the engine started. I soon found the bit of cardboard around the contact of the pressure sensor. Fortunely it was just hiding an over-sensitive sensor, not knackered bearings...
