You always seem to be complaining about your boat. It is the cheapeast available from UK builders so perhaps you need to put your hand in your pocket when things go wrong rather than to expect to be on a never ending meal ticket ie 4 hoods its a boat hoods leak! speak to engel about your fridge perhaps it collapse under the wieght of the 3 bottles
Dont think they would want to sell you another boat

[/ QUOTE ]
Harsh words especially considering that none of the other big 3 can be arsed to make 30 footers any more!

this boat has been poor since it was delivered.....i did reject it but finally gave up because i do like the bloody thing....

there is a thing called warranty and fit for purpose

and as for sell me another boat......i went to Barcelona show a few years ago...
where i expressed an interest in the F34.....but not until this boat was sorted.....
guess what.....
headless chickens for a few months....
now back to usual couldnt give a shite

BTW
did anyone notice i said i have water ingress in the midships.....

that was originally becasuse the top and bottom halves werent ptroperly sealed!!!!!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

If this can be proved by a third party why are you still in possesion of the boat. You go to court, you win hands down due to poor service, bad workmanship etc etc. You go away buy a better quality boat.
Why talk about buying a 34 sealine. gluton for punishment or the service wasn't that bad.

like to suggest another comparable fly bridge to the F34?

it IS a very good boat for the money....

as for proof on the sealing....
they took the rubbing strake and track off which is where the joint is....
resealed it
and then had to drill new holes to refit the rubbing strake and track...
can be easily seen from the engine room

yes you are right a court would probably agree....but its MY boat

I would just like some acceptance from Sealine that my early production model is not what it should have been and instead of doing the French thing (Non monsieur) deal with the issues properly.

If I were you i'd be dumping it with a LowLoader on Sealine's front door

As for buying it... jesus christ you've even put me off the SC29 (and I love the thing, really want one!)

Dont be put off the SC......

i know a few S owners who have had similar problems to me.......

the SC seems to have avoided many problems.....after the early models of course

they ARE fantastic boats....just not mine.....

Time to pipe up. I bought my S29 not long after Doug had his and I have to say that he really has suffered with his boat. He told me what would go wrong, that the canopy would leak and other small things that I could put right myself and he was spot on. With his help I also had 2 more canopies fitted, and had other issued fixed, but now it is fine.

I have not however had the other problems that Doug has and in his defence he has had many of these ongoing problems from the start all of which were reported to Sealine.

All that aside and 400 hours later I think they are great little boats. Takes me everywhere I want and only occasionally does the Missus want to jump overboard!

I'm not talking about the boat. The F34 maybe a very good boat. But you are planning on dealing with the same company that you keep moaning about. They will be the same people trying to sort out your problems IF there are any.

Read what people are saying !!!!!!!

The reason why I always said i'd upgrade to an S29/SC29 is because i'm so happy with my S23... I really cannot fault it (Well, i'd be happer if she was 30ft /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

Sorry to hear of your problems D3B - I'd happy do a straight swap for a clean S23 /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif (Or am I taking a risk? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif)

It sounds as though Burton Waters should have done more to help. I would have thought they would have clout with Sealine as they are one of their Main Dealers? Do you feel they have acted as well as they could have? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

TT, I think you are being unreasonable or just pulling Dougs leg?

If I had had the problems DB3 has I would be spitting blood much the same as he is. EVERYTHING should be fit for purpose and should be designed to last a minimum of 6 years, unless it's an disposable item of course.

Just because it's a boat doesn't mean it should be less reliable than any other luxury item.

My boat is 7 years old with the original covers and have only been leaking for the last year or so. I am about to order new ones and will expect them to be waterproof for the best part of their useable life.

Gel crazing on a relitively new boat is unacceptable, no question.

Kev,
Please explain why I have been unreasonable.
I know I'm looking like the bad boy here BUT,
Some of the things he has said contradicts himself. I've always found sealine boats excellent value for money, some I like and some I don't. D3B has a problem with boat and company. If he feels that strongly why buy another boat no matter how good it is from the company that have wronged you.
I could go on pulling this thread apart but feel I should bow out while I'm ahead.
