I really believe Sealine got all the [--word removed--] they could find and put it on my boat.............

letter going to the MD of Sealine shortly.

If someone from Sealine does read this I REALLY would like to see them respond to what has to have been one of the worst boats they ever built!

Correct me if I am wrong (which I know I am not!) but Sealine dont make Engel Fridges.........you cant blame this failure on them.....Can you?? Or is it an installation issue which you then can!

Re: Do you recall a few months ago I reported one of my Engel fridges.

dont know....just stopped working

when the first one went i paid 60 quid to be told it was terminal, so not too inclined to spend again

Engel is premium equipment. Sorry yours has bust twice, but it isn't a case of Sealine cutting corners on the specification. It could of course be down to their poor installation, and regardless of the reason they should react quickly to get it fixed or replaced.

No two different fridges.....

Sealine react quickly?
I am still waiting for them to sort out the canopy after nearly 4 years!!!!!

thats not to disregard the mega list of other faults.....some still not dealt with......Like the radar arch which has shifted......being "normal maintenance"
how many radar arch's does ANYONE know that have shifted?

Gel coat cracking around canopy fittings
water ingress in the midships area.........again!!!!!

I don't believe it MR meldrew.

When you come to sell your beloved 29 will you tell the potential new owners of all the previous problems and current faults and discount the boat accordingly.

Re: Do you recall a few months ago I reported one of my Engel fridges.

Haven't seen your list but some of the items you've quoted do sound like normal boat wear and tear. Not sure what your expectations are but you do get crazing around fittings on many FG boats after a few years.

With the searching potential of the internet, I'll be surprised if he'll ever be able to shift it now. DOH!

Two engel fridges on my boat, no problem at all. Would it not be better to contact Engel and not blame the manufacturer for an ancillary producy fault. I my experience Sealine have been fantastic on any issues regarding boats either in warranty or not. Are you speaking to the right person at Sealine? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

the BRAND NEW BOAT was supplied with Engel fridges.

If i bought a new car would i have to go to Lucas to discuss a faulty alternator??????????

I am speaking via Burton Waters who sold me the brand new boat.

as i have said I will now write to Sealine's MD

Re: Do you recall a few months ago I reported one of my Engel fridges.

Hmmm, thought your expectations might be treating it as one would with a car, buying a boat is more like buying a new house, you have to manage the builder with snagging lists and retentions otherwise there is little incentive. Car dealers are so willing to sort problems out under warranty on the spot because they get paid to do it. I am not saying this is right just seems to be the way it is.

Yes.

How old is it now. It won't last for ever.

What you going to do when the battery fails. Send another letter to sealine MD. Don't hold your breath for an answer.

How old is your boat? Engel is a well known top brand.

Have you walked under a ladder recently? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

thanks to all of you who are taking the pi$$

the boat is not 4 years old yet......
how old is the fridge in your kitchen?
How long is it switched on for each day or week?

what those have posted have missed is the catalogue of faults i have had with this boat since new....
I could fill a whole thread page on things that have been wrong/faulty most have been dealt with EVENTUALLY.
the gel coat cracks appeared after ONE YEAR!!!!!
would you call that normal wear and tear?????
Nope didnt think so.....

I dont't see how my post can be seen as taking the p1ss!! Just a reasonable question and a jokey remark. Not meant to offend (hence the smiley) and not deserving your response.

So is it me taking the mike. Don't think so.
You need to take a chill pill.

Just read your last post.

'how old is the fridge in your kitchen?

The fridge in my kitchen doesn't get bounced about.
My fridge is left on all the time. Switching on and off won't help last like the one in your kitchen will it.

Aren't you supposed to leave fridges level before swithing them on. Let them settle or something.
