Do you lock your boat to the pontoon?

In my experience Marinas use their own workboats to move your vessel - can't do that if it is locked to the pontoon though!

I even leave the ignition keys in my boat,to save further damage!

Won't that invalidate insurance?

Kawasaki, your boat is safe as it is out of the water. But, just to make sure, I drilled some holes in the hull to make sure no one would take it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Dinorwic is reasonable safe, except the most expensive and largest boat in the marina got turned over a couple of months ago and a lot of the equipment stolen. Right under the nose of the CCTV cameras.

Dave, you were very lucky. Hope they get him as he endangered your life.

I'm not sure I would want to leave the keys so the marina owners could move the boat...

Many marinas make it a condition to leave a spare set of keys with them. Not only can they deal with your boat in an emergency, it can save you a trip if you lose or forget yours. As for moving it, if they have to go any distance, they are more likely to use a rib or dory for an alongside tow rather than go to the effort of opening it up and starting the engine.
