I have a 503 and all i can tell you is that it works and my battery ( its only connected to the domestic ) is always charged when i get to the boat. Thats good enough for me.
Its also quiet !!!

ok, laundryman, i run an anchor light 24/7, draws 2.5 ah per day.
sail on the weekend, another 5ah at least, any idea if the 503 keeps up with that ?
that's 22 ah per week at least.
hmm, i see you're in titchmarsh, might see if i can put my probe in your 503 ??!!

You mean the light is 'on' 24/7? If so why not get a hanging anchor light with photo cell. £29.31 from Force 4 and stocked by other swindleries. Draws 0.1 amp (12v).

sure, i got one. during the winter, that's still 0.1 x 14 or so plus running the photo cell.
my 2x 14W solar can not keep up with it & weekend plotter etc !!
