Do you have a lanyard on your autohelm

If you are worried about your autohelm going overboard then either the rest of your boat isnt worth much or your autohelm is seriously expensive. Or both.

The whole cost of boating makes the cost of an autohelm fairly trivial and loss of it is what insurance companies are for.

So your insurance company are able to steer your boat for you over the phone while you wait for them to send another auto helm by helicopter?
How much is your premium

Er, I don't think this is about the value of the Autohelm, more about the inconvenience if you lose it. And, as a singlehander, I speak from the position of having a spare, and a spare spare, and I still use a lanyard on the working unit.
