Do you drink and sail?

As I've said before, as a horny-handed son of the sea my capacity for alcohol is obviously stupendous. I can handle two, even three pints. However, despite having spent 38 years driving boats of all sizes and 18 years on this one if I have one pint I have the utmost difficulty even moving from one berth to another: it's not so much the cack-handedness that would worry me, it's the general lack of sound judgement.

Our usual rule is , wait until tied up, but we only day sail so all the sundowners etc would be within that. I must admit that a pint at lunch time should be within my limits of tolerance, or even a unit or two whilst underway, I may have to rethink our standing rules. Being incapable isn't a good idea wether in home waters or not, you never know what may happen, like a riding turn in a tack.
We tend not to use the dingy after having drink taken, but if we do, life jackets would be prudent.
