Besenzoni is a company without pride without passion and does care at all about their customers.
I won’t bore everyone about the details of how I have been treated by them. But even if only one person googles this and doesn’t make the same mistake as me, then I think that is a good thing
 
Are you sure it’s not the boat ?
Retro fitting passerelles is fraught with risk as factory specced they reinforce areas , sort of prep them, beef up transom areas and so on etc .
Hence the price differentials of a OEM factory fit Vs one later out of a box .

There was another thread recently guy with a retro fitted one on a Princess done by the dealer , or should I say the CdA Prinny dealer arranged it ......crashed through the bathing platform lifting a moderate tender .

You are exactly right.
The installer has made a right hash of it (this is the abridged version).
But I didn’t get the installer out of the yellow pages, I got him from the Besenzoni website. So I asked for a little help. But they literally washed their hands of it

Your come back is with the installer ( irrespective of where you sourced him ) they are the “ retailers” .
Assume you choose it and them ?

Why blame to factory .....is there a problem with the product , defective , malfunctioning etc .....and it will have a warranty as it will be CE marked .

Any pics in a “ tell and show “ kinda way for the benefit of others ?
 
I have to sign off right now but I’ll give a full report later. But I just want to emphasize that my dispute (on going) is with the installation. But I am very angry with Besenzoni who direct you to the installer and then say, he’s nothing to do with us, it’s your problem.
Very few people can drive into Besenzoni‘s factory buy a passerelle put it in your car then drive off and install it. So you go to the Besenzoni website pick the distributor closest to you. What you don’t want to find is that being on their website means nothing to them after the passerelle has left the factory gates.
This is why I question Besenzoni’s pride and passion.

I would certainly assume that if they were sensible then Besenzoni would lean heavily on their distributer to sort it out, irrespective of if they have any legal obligation. After all, distributors and official installers all have a duty to uphold the brand values.

Thank you Mark. That was my position and that is what I had hoped. I saw Besenzoni at the boat show, I accepted in good faith that this was the right product for me. I looked for the installer on their website, also in good faith. Unfortunately, Besenzoni have not returned that good faith

My problem is with the installation and it will probably go to law. But this could all have been avoided if Besenzoni had mediated or even offer to. But they simply didn’t care. And I feel that anyone else making a large purchase should at least be aware that you could find yourself alone.
 
Without pics to compare it with ( I think OEM ) its difficult to say anymore except like most passerelle fails .....just reinforce the inside of the transom .Obviously would have been better this was “ clocked “ by the experienced installer at the outset .
But then again did you insist on its what’s turned out sub optimal position ?
Your boat is very common on the CdA .The ones I have seen place the pass where it is on the pic I posted ^^^^ .So it’s not like the installer was pioneering new ground here .

A piece of 15mm ply or some Aluminium angle beams glassed in behind out of sight is the best way forwards rather than a Fr legal shoot out .......taking years .

As JRudge said there’s very little detail for readers imho to form an opinion.......other than basic first principles.

btw I have no interest in the Co .

Customer service from rival Italian Co,s has been excellent ...Pincraft , Frigomar , Barka to name a few I have dealings direct and stuff shipped .

The problem is that the installer is refusing to finish the job but still demanding payment. So if I go somewhere else I am in danger of paying twice.

That’s not what I,am saying ....iam saying Italian marine manufacturers are pretty good customer service wise .

Why is that ?
Has he had to reprice for unforeseen additional work ?
And you are refusing to accept , budge from the first quote ?
Again awaiting a thorough explanation ( if possible ) of how you ended up feeling ,to shame the manufacturers ?
If I have understood the reason for this post correctly??
 
Based on what you are saying, it seems to me that your problem has much more to see with the installer than the factory.
I appreciate your point about the former having been indicated by the latter, but I guess that all they did was check which dealer in their network was the closer to your home port, and point you to it.

So, I'm afraid that as it comes across so far, your thread will hardly achieve the OP objective of making Besenzoni sell one less passerelle.
It might be different if you would explain the problem in more details, including Besenzoni feedbacks to your queries, and also name and shame the installer.
If nothing else, someone else could steer clear of the installer, and possibly look for another one who can supply also other than Besenzoni stuff.
But that's up to you, of course.

Fwiw, in the only occasion when I had a boat where I retrofitted the passerelle, I didn't even consider mainstream products like Besenzoni and Opac.
There are in fact (or there were, at least) smaller IT builder whose products are much better, for any given price, because they can be bought factory direct.
Bitecnomare is the one I picked, but I guess there's not a lot you can do now with this suggestion.
Besenzoni and Opac are, quite simply, not interested in boaters.
Boatbuilders are their clients, and we are just a nuisance for them, regardless of the fact that we are the ones who eventually feed the whole food chain.
 
relax, write a decent report with some pics and describe the issues and see what ppl say/suggest.
Going for the co because of an installer is a bit too much maybe? Obviously don't know the specifics and how the installer was employed, I guess directly by you it wasn't a "package deal" with the Co.

Your contract is with the installer ... it's not really the manufacturers role to intervene, other than at a high level to set the standard to which installers should operate.
If everyone complained, the installer would get de-selected, but individual issues aren't going to get much traction unless it also involves a product defect.
Many smaller manufacturers are simply not set up to act as any kind of "mediator" in a dispute between a customer and an installer.
