For what it's worth, many years ago (about 7) I started a company importing boats from the US.
I got a couple of reviews in Boat mart and Sea Angler (I advertised) but despite repeated requests MBM wouldn't even talk to me about a test of the boats I imported. It was never mentioned that I didn't advertise with them - I was just told categorically that my boats (walkaround fishers similar to Bayliner) were not of interest. However now that another importer is doing them, and taking a small advert every now and then there has been a test of one of the boats. Noteably however they only got one of the small one page tests, and interestingly they only take a small ad.....
I will never accept that the reviews we see are linked to spend even if it's not in direct proportion to that spend.
