PLEASE get your reporters/writers to do a tiny bit of research.

Even to the extent of sending staff (they would love it) there to check.

Yachting World November 2013 Issue Page 46 states that 'nowhere does lunch like Rawlins Plantation in St.Kitts".

Maybe when Claire & Paul Rawson owned and ran it. They sold it in 2005 !

"And without Claire's oversight in the kitchen, the food is still good but not divine."

Kevin Horstwood, who 'bought' it is currently in jail on remand awaiting trial in regard to the Dec 2011 murder of Matthew Murphy.

As I write Rawlins is closed and is in possession of the Bank.

PLEASE do your research and report accurately.

At the moment this casts doubt on all your other recommendations.

Thank you for pointing out this put, and our apologies that the information about the Claire and Paul's ownership is out of date. The Inn is still reputedly well run.. but if anyone has any other recommendations about here or anywhere else they like to go among the islands, please let us know, maybe we can run an (updated!) readers' favourites online?

Sorry, but the Inn is closed and currently in the hands of the Bank.

See the OP.

Thanks for that, that is really useful. Nice photos. I'll have to look away now.

I really must put myself forward for a thorough investigation of all bars and restaurants in the Windwards and Leewards, a job I believe I could cover very comprehensively in around 4-5 weeks in, say, January/February. If taken on for this detailed task I will definitely visit all of the above.

Trust me you'll need longer or maybe two or three helpers?

You could incorporate investigating lift-out facilities (not many) and their costs especially important in hurricane season eg St.Kitts has a 150 ton travel lift, as does St.Maarten with a smaller one, etc for a separate article.

You could incorporate investigating the recommended 'hurricane holes' (not recommended in the Hurricane season) and the facilities they offer.

In St.Kitts suggest the humble Ottleys's Plantation Inn.
