Do I send my Clipper Navtex back to NASA?

I have now had a test report from NASA, and it's a most peculiar one. They say that the reception works perfectly, but that the LCD module is faulty and therefore doesn't display messages. I have asked them how this happens, bearing in mind that it has no problem displaying setup, standby, signal strength and other screens, and to make sure they tested the right unit.

Repair cost is £40 (if that really is the fault) or I can have a new Easy Navtex for £160.

We shall see ...

Apparently the receiver circuitry is fine, but the display, which was working absolutely fine when it left here, failed as soon as they got it on the bench for testing.

Mine has the active aerial and I receive ok. It's only mounted on the pushpit too.

Speak to NASA, their customer service is excellent, you can actually speak to someone who knows the answer rather than just a sales bod.
