Hi, I have used Sikaflex on my wooden boat and would like to know if I need to prime/undercoat it before painting over with a gloss paint. I have sanded it down to smooth the edges off.
I think it is Sikaflex 291 sealer/adhesive.

I have worked in the marine environment since 77, and I have never come across any surface or compound that did not need to be primed, sealed or at least keyed before painting.
Sorry I can’t be more specific, but I am looking forward to any answers provided by other members.

Yes. It takes most types of paint but usually you paint over the surface skin it forms. As you have sanded it it may need a couple of coats to seal the surface or it will look matt finish.
