I rang the Boatshow ticket line last Friday and asked for the cheapest option to buy 4 tickets for next weekend (13th/14th). I explained that I was aware of the Daily Mail offer (but thought that was restricted to weekday attendance), Sailing Today 3 for 2, RYA and others at £11 per ticket.

Girl on the other end of the phone said "Daily Mails your best bet". Asked her to check these would be OK for the weekend - "Yes" she says.

Tickets arrive today and, of course, plastered across is a statement saying these are for weekdays only GRRRR! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Anyhow, included in the posting was what looks like an additional ticket compliments of rightboat.com which states that this ticket gives admission on any day "when produced with the tickets from full order".

Assuming I went midweek, do I now have 5 tickets?

Has anyone else seen this or know how it's supposed to work?

I guess you do.
I went yesterday on my own, showed all my tickets and used the free one from Rightboat. Will go with family on Thursday and use the other three tickets I have. I actually bought 2 from them on the PBO offer, received one free ticket, plus the rightboat ticket making 4 in all!

Do you think they are having so much trouble getting punters thro' the doors that they are having to give the d*mn things away?

From past experience, I wouldn't be bothered travelling to spend a day in an overheated hall full of overpriced mega plastic boats & chandlery I don't need.

But then I'm officially a Grumpy Grandad now /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I rang to booking line tonight. They said they've only just been told that these tickets are not valid for the weekend after lots of complaints. They didn't have anyone on duty tonight who knew how they were going to resolve the problem but have promised me a call back tomorrow.
I'd suggest you look carefully at the wording on the tickets and if you're in any doubt ring the booking line to check.

Hope yours are OK.

I went today with a disabled ticket I bought a couple of weeks ago. I also received a free ticket which I gave to the guy next to me on the coach we traveled in, so we both got in for £6.25 total cost. It was the least crowded day I have ever seen at a London Boat Show, the staff on the Z Spars stand even stopped playing cards on their laptop to answer my questions. I much prefered Earls Court as a location.

I purchased the daily mail 2 for 1 deal, I had the same additional free ticket which I used last Saturday no problems. Im back to LBS this Friday again to spend a few more penny's !!. For what its worth I much prefer the old Earls Court show, the trip on the tube to get there was part of the day out, plus Excel stopped the £5 park and ride this year and forced to park in the new Excel parking for £12 /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif . Where's the improved entertainment too ??? Excel was just a glorified trade show just like the past 3 years.
Bring back Earls Court I say..... rant over

Colin,
When you used your free ticket, did they ask to see anything else (such as the other tickets that you ordered?)

The small print on the ticket does indicate that you should have the other tickets to show and I did take the other week day tickets just incase, though the free ticket was accepted without question last Saturday.
