The seller has two of them brand new,picked up at a boat sales auction,brand new in original cartons. . about 3000w.
Memory suggests a green casing. ??????
Was recommended by local dealer to try new carb.
Exactly the same problem on both.Starts OK once warm but will simply not start from cold.
Wondered about using higher octane fuel :)

I bought a new Hyundai 2Kw gennie, it was heavier than the Honda, a bitch to start, the auto throttle was never as effective and after a year the fuel lines cracked up pissing Petrol all over it.

I shut it off at the same speed as a Commando lobbing back a Grenade let me tell you...

I replaced the fuel lines for fuel-safe ones, and Ebayed it (at a profit LOL)

It would sustain 2.2kw mind you, the Honda would pop at 1800ish...I suspect that would have killed it in the end if so used though.

Best bet is buy a used Honda, as I said before, they are way better and when you want to flog it, you should make a small profit...

Might have been the same one.?
 
Just really looking for a reasonably quiet 1K( ish) genny to charge a couple my 110 ah leisure batteries.
We can normally manage about 30 hours before batteries start to complain.
Max stay is usually 2/3 days and merely want to be able to use the electric bog on the 3 rd day.
At the moment have second set of batteries which we connect into the circuit via jump leads.
A not very elegant solution.

i'd go with an EVO1000I or EVO2000I/EI, best bang for your buck on the market

well hyundais are blue so im assuming your talking about another manufacturer?

you find with a vast majority of manufacturers such as honda, yamaha and hyundai they use factories and corporations that build generic parts and engines. There is no Honda factory in Japan, or Yamaha factory or Hyundai factory in Korea, everything is built in China. This gives the opportunity to Kipor and Evopower to use parts and engines from these well known brands to build their own machines. Evopower use Hyundais engine and parts making them very similar to Hyundais apart from the casing and colouring... if your in the know, its a great way to save £££ rather then spending money paying for a manufacturers name.

To be fair i'd say Hyundais are reasonably priced in the market, considering there made in the factory down the road from the Honda and cost a third of the price!

I said the fuel lines started degrading after a year, which was shoddy and dangerous.

I tested the Hyundai to a BIT OVER CAPACITY when I purchased it to make sure it was OK. Normally it was run with a very light load. The Honda had an overload device, which would cut power if you load it up to around 1850W for some time, although it would provide 2KW peak.

The Honda was infinitely nicer made, lighter, quieter and thats why I prefer them.

My current EX500 is 30 years old and perfect...

the hyundai also has overload protection, along with Yamahas, SDMOS etc etc... the Honda isnt anything special in comparison... and ridiculously priced!

Any make generator can last for 30 years if you look after it and your using it from time to time
 
Can't believe the choice of Generator can cause so much controversy, really it comes down to how much you want to pay and I guess some
peeps have spent a lot and need to justify the expenditure. £350 for a non essential occasional use bit of kit seems like plenty to me, just buy a
Kipor/Evo/Hyundi :confused:

Bought a Kipor 1000 and promptly sold it due to the noise. Horrible rattly exhaust did not help matters. Fine if it was twenty feet away but then that becomes a nuisance for other people. Boat next to us has a Honda on platform. Hardly know it's there...
 
They should be banned within 30m of anybody else, the damned things are Chinese water torture. I moored in front of a NB and heard the irritating funfair sound of the generator over my telly. As I moved off I expected to see a cheap noisy thing, but to my surprise it was a Honda suitcase.
