Do Forum members fancy clubbing together and buying a Hamble Marina?

As posted in the other thread, I'd have a bash.

Who ever does eventually buy it will no doubt transform the place. A couple of new bus shelters or a new harbour launch in return for dredging the bed and putting in some piles...

Henry :)

You may need to do the dredging on a very dark night & without prior notification. Those worms have powerful friends in high places . . .

Much cheaper & easier to deal with consequences that to gain permission beforehand. It's the way most developers sem to operate nowadays - if you can cope with the sleepless nights when the eco-warriors put your home under seige.

As posted in the other forum;

Yes, we would be interested, at least to take it one step further.
Perhaps there should be a requirement for interested parties to stump up a 'good faith' fee to stay in the loop - it could be quite small (say £1,000) at first and ramp up as / if matters progressed.

Steve

(could you please choose one forum before my old typewrite runs out of ink :D).

Are the worms specific to that little bit of Warsash or the same as the worms on the rest of the Hamble?

In light of the worms possibly a better use for the site would be to drag old boats up on a high tide then break them for scrap. I have several good contacts in that field.

Alternatively if you wanted to take another look at the worm "issue" we do have plans for some berths, a public cafe and tourist information point. We could even throw in a couple of key worker low rent housing units.

Some people !

Henry :)

Do these worms make suitable feed for seahorses? If so ship them 'round to Studland...
Otherwise, as part of the dredging/piling/whatever deal appease the eco lot by offerening to grow eel grass..;)
