DJY Mavic Air: any good?

Nigel is the log stored on the hand controller that you mail to them or do they big brotherishly have the log already?
Just shared it from the DJI App John, they also took the video cache for the bird strike.
The fly away replacement, (phantom 2), was purely done through customer service exchange, (DJI Europe), pre care package...it may have been helpful that we were an LTD with a video channel but I was very happy with the experience.

I am under the impression that I have 48 hours after registering the drone to buy the Care Refresh or they need video proof that it is in good working order.
Yes sorry, rush of crap to the head on my part. Has to be be bought within 48 hours of activation and your app will keep pushing you reminders; I meant that you had a year to activate and register the drone, but not sure if that’s still the case...(I bought my MPro November 2016 but didn’t unbox until Late summer 2017, for various reasons - which I guess is not usual!

Just seen this on the DJI website
https://store.dji.com/product/tello
Seems to have DJI software.
Camera only 5Mp and 720p but then again - less than £100

hm, got a reminder at 11:20 that it's in stock. Checked at 12:20, all gone!

Thinking of learing and crashing a 109euro drone rather than a much more expensive DJ product but not much luck it seems...
Re registered, next time I'll be quicker :D

Anybody wanting a Tello drone can just go and buy one.

It's made by Rise, so is a Rise Tello. Probably get one a bit cheaper, but it's the same thing!

any pointers plz?
The AU site is more expensive and it's out of stock as well.
ebay only lists the DJI and it's also more expensive than 109euro.

so looks like I have to wait.

V.

I just googled Tello drone'

It ain't rocket science, but I suppose your country of origin may offer different suggestions!? :ambivalence:

I just came across another of these Chinese toys, the Wingsland S6. Do you guys know anything about it?
Several web reviews are rather unfavourable, but according to others, some initial problems were fixed by firmware updates.
What grabbed my attention is the amazingly compact size when folded, and the decent camera - up to 4k in theory, though FHD is probably more appropriate for the lens and sensor quality.
Besides, a street price in the $150 ballpark makes it an almost disposable purchase, which doesn't hurt... :D

PS: the Tello is now widely available here, at 99 bucks. But in spite of its very small size, I think that foldable arms is what make the bigger difference for portability, and the Tello (as well as the Spark) don't tick this box, which is a pity.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but have seen the DJI Mavic Air Pro Fly more package for £845 from Argos. There is one slightly cheaper but this seems to be pretty good price and I think I can get it next day. When I first looked at these the bundle was nearer £1500. I assume they are just about to release a new model. Any thought on the price?

I meant the Mavic Pro. Anyhoo, I have ordered one with the Fly More bundle and SD card and gets delivered this afternoon. Boy with new toy. Not quite a substitute for a boat but it will keep me busy until I find one.

I have just ordered one of these from Amazon (free shipping) as I want to do some programming with it for fun. Contains tech from DJI and Intel and is quite a lot of tech for a very low price. If I wasn't on a break from work and living off savings I would have gone for the Mavic but for a first drone £99 seems more sensible anyway.
