Has anyone made a heater or know of plans to build a heater
similar to those made by "Taylors". It would be nice to have
a diesel heater but they seem very expensive for what they are.

For years I survived with a terracotta plant pot upturned on a cooker burner.

So much less hassle than my new diesel job.

I have seen a similr idea to the terracotta pot, it was a simple primus type of pump up burner, mounted on a set of gymbals with a stainless steel chimney about one foot long fixed above the burner. Inside the chimney were large bits of fireclay pottery and brick rubble that was heated by the primus and packed loosely enough to allow free movement of heated gases and air through the chimney. It got very hot and provided total combusion of the gases, no kero smells.

Come to think of it, with all the messing about to get balance of the gymbals correct and the extra engineering and munufacturing, then to find somewhere to put the contraption when in/out of use, the terracotta pot on the stove top is probably much simpler and better.
