What about taking the plunge buying some gear and doing it yourself.
That way you do a bit at a time more often and get some exercise in the process. You can do most of a boat with just a snorkel and a big lung full of air. I am 61 and still doing my little boat every week. And often other peoples as well.
You will need a good wet suit with hood gloves and boots then a weight belt to get you down to neutral bouyancy. Mask fins and snorkel and finally a scraper, rag or scotch brite.

good luck olewill

depends on the boat. I cant get far under mine even with a big lung of air.

In fact, even with a scuba tank, it's quite an effort with 44ft of bottom.
